COLUMBIA, SC, September 15, 2025  — Bierkeller Brewing Company is raising a glass to growth and giving back. The Columbia-based brewery announced today that, alongside the launch of its new production facility at Finn’s Farm (in the former River Rat Brewing location), it will partner with The Honor Project, a local 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting home affordability and financial literacy. A portion of sales will directly support The Honor Project’s mission as a dedicated charitable partner in its Drink Beer Do Good initiative.

“We’re incredibly excited to launch this new phase of Bierkeller,” said Scott Burgess, Bierkeller owner and founder. “Ever since we started this project 10 years ago, we’ve sought to bring our German-style lagers to all of Columbia – and indeed all of South Carolina. With the partnership with Finn’s Farm at the old River Rat brewery – which we will be calling Ratskeller – we finally have the production capacity we need to supply the freshest, purest Bier to stores and bars throughout the city and the state.”

The partnership reflects Bierkeller’s belief in strengthening the community it calls home. “Partnerships like this show how local businesses and nonprofits can come together to tackle important issues like home affordability,” said Edward G. McDonnell, founder of The Honor Project. “We’re grateful to Bierkeller for helping us build stronger futures for families in our community.”

Expanding Distribution Across South Carolina

With the new Ratskeller facility, Bierkeller will distribute German-style lagers through Advintage Distributing, beginning in Columbia and expanding to Greenville, Charleston, Hilton Head/Bluffton, Rock Hill, and Aiken/Augusta in the months ahead. “The Advintage Team is very excited to launch our partnership with Bierkeller Brewing Company and to have the opportunity to bring their incredibly authentic German-style Biers to our customers throughout South Carolina,” said Advintage Regional Sales Director, Judah Cannon.
